Symi

Symi – renowned for its neoclassical architecture and idyllic town. Visit the 500-year-old Panormitis Monastery and museum where miracles have been performed and experience the magic of Agios.

Symi’s main town is divided into two parts, first you will see the harbour, Gialos, where pastel-coloured Venetian mansions are arranged in a vertiginous style. Then there’s Chorio, the village-like old part of torn up to 450 steps, some painted cobalt blue (some reach it by donkey – or there is a five-minute bus that leaves every hour). The Olive Tree Care at the top of the steps is an ideal incentive to push on, thanks to its sweeping views across the bay.

Between July and September, Symi defies its size by going big on the performing arts. It’s annual festival features live music, interactive dance, theatre and book fairs, as well as the Symi International Film festival, where anyone can watch movies screened outdoors for free.  The activity centers around the harbour square in Gialos, where you can often see traditional Greek music performances. A full schedule of events is posted at the square.

Chalki

One of the most charming islands in the region with a medieval castle of the Knights of St. John. Its pristine beaches are only accessible by boat where you will have an entire beach available just for you. Visit the town, stroll around the charming port. Notice the houses paved with chochlakia, I.e., black and white pebbles arranged in impressive mosaic patterns. We will treat you to a most authentic and sumptuous meal, with recipes dating centuries back!

RHODES

Rhodes combines cosmopolitan vibes with medieval architecture in a unique way! The natural landscape, imposing buildings, ancient towns and picturesque… Also known as the “Knights’ island”, Rhodes has a rich historical past, which you can tell by its historical buildings and monuments. The atmosphere in Rhodes Old Town is simply unique! Strong walls, stone-paved alleys, elegant mansions, and a medieval castle create the illusion that you have time-traveled back to the age of the knights. Don’t be surprised if you believe you’re into a medieval fairy tale. Who knows? Maybe you were a knight or a princess in your past life!

KOS

Kos is known as the birthplace of Hippocrates, the father of medicine. It is the third largest of the Dodecanese islands with a rich archaeological interest and natural beauty. Kos is highly preferred by the young crowds given the vivid nightlife in the capital. At first sight, the island gives the impression of a large city dominated by numerous hotel complexes and high buildings.

However, a walk at the center reveals all the treasures of Kos starting from the medieval castle, the plane tree of Hippocrates and other ancient remains. Equally interesting villages are found in the beautiful surrounds of Kos like the mountainous village of Zia located in the center of the island. Some great facilities are found in Kardamena, one of the most popular resorts in Kos.

PAROS

Historically, Paros was known for its fine white marble, which gave rise to the term “Parian” to describe marble or china of similar qualities. Today, abandoned marble quarries and mines can be found on the island, but Paros is primarily known as a popular tourist spot.

Right at the centre of the Cyclades, the island of Paros is a holiday destination cherished for its phenomenal beaches and cute Cycladic villages of snow-white houses.

Parikia, the main port is a knot of winding streets below a castle made from re-used marble from an ancient temple, while the small fishing port at Naoussa is one of the Cyclades’ most endearing scenes.

Paros is synonymous for the high-quality marble that was quarried here in ancient times, used for the Parthenon’s roof tiles and iconic sculptures like Nike of Samothrace and the Medici Venus.

The beaches on Paros are almost too good for words, bathed by shallow waters of shades ranging from turquoise to royal blue.

MYKONOS

Located in the center of the Cyclades island group, Mykonos is one of the most famous Greek islands for its cosmopolitan atmosphere and vivid nightlife Famous for its minimal Cycladic architecture, Mykonos is full of traditional whitewashed houses and blue-domed churches. NIsyros

NIsyros – the volcano island. According to Greek Mythology, the island was formed when Poseidon cut off part of Kos and threw it onto the giant Polybotes to stop him from escaping. Ancient walls, dating from the 5th Century BC, part of the Acropolis of the island, are found near Mandraki. The knights of Hospitaller conquered the island in 1315 and built a crusader castle. Make sure you taste the local, traditional product, the nonalcoholic almond favored drink, Soumada.

Most important and noteworthy is the island’s volcano. While less known, it I sone of the more active volcanoes in the world. The last eruption in 1887 left a moonscape with colorful craters and very active fumaroles.

DELOS (The Island of Venus)

Delos is a Greek island in the Cyclades archipelago which was both an influential political force and, with its sanctuary to the god Apollo, an important religious centre in the Archaic and Classical periods. The island was also a major commercial and trading centre in the 2nd and 1st centuries BCE.

PATMOS

Famous for its religious past, Patmos is the island where Saint John the Theologian wrote the Book of Revelation (the Apocalypse). Today, this beautiful island with the spiritual vibes is a popular religious destination, with pilgrims coming to visit the Monastery of Saint John and the Cave of Apocalypse. These two monuments are the most important sites in Patmos. The island also has nice and calm beaches for beach holidays, some organized and others totally secluded. Excursion boats from the port of Skala go to the islands of Leros, Lipsi, Arki, and Marathi.

The island is ideal for total relaxation at the beach or in the countryside. Swimming in the wonderfully secluded beaches of Patmos is a delight. Enjoy a day under the hot sun and in the afternoon have lunch in the seaside taverns. In the evenings, have a drink in a lounge cafe-bar under the stars.

Another enjoyable activity in Patmos island is hiking. Many old footpaths cross the island and lead to tiny chapels, small settlements, secluded beaches and hilltops with breathtaking view to the sea. Hiking is best in autumn and spring when the weather is not so hot. In summer, long hiking can be quietly uncomfortable.
